Master Myung Kyu Kang is a graduate of the University of Korea where his major was Political Science.  He began his instruction in Tae Kwon Do when he was 8 years old.  He trained in Judo at the Yuddege and has trained in Kang Fu for 7 years.  He has twice been the National Champion in Tae Kwon Do. 

Master Kang has taught Tae Kwon Do for years and has had over 40,000 students.  Over the years he has taught Tae Kwon Do to the Korean

Air Force Academy, the 23rd Intelligence School, United States 728th Military Police and several Universities, colleges and high schools in Korea.

While in Korea, he established 20 Tae Kwon Do gymnasiums.  The largest was Young Dong Po Gymnasium.

In 1964, Master Kang came to the United States.  Here he organized the Tae Kwon Do Association in the United States.  He was the first President of the Tae Kwon Do-Moo Duk Kwan Association of the United States.  There are 300 branches of Moo Duk Kwan in the United States.

In December 1969, Master Kang received a commendation and gold medal from the Republic of Korea.  He is one of six men in the world to receive this high honor.  (Pictured above.)
